Default Homebrew Tube door Latches

So this is the first time I have done anything like a write-up so bare with me.

Ok so I finally got around and finished my tube doors.
No big deal, but I thought I would share my latch design and maybe it would help someone else out.
I found an old Toyota tailgate and removed the latches from it.

They fit perfectly in the factory striker.
Trimmed and welded the bottom and sides so the door would swing without hitting the frame/pillar.

I welded the latch to some square tubing that I notched so I could fine tune the position of the latch and installed.Click image for larger version

I bought some cupboard door knobs, cut the heads off the bolts and welded in to use as a pull knob.

I put some self stick weather stripping between the door and the jeep to stop excess door movement.

Everything seams to work good no rattles.

hope this helps someone
