Alright, so it isn't very spectacular, but I figure it increased the amount of space that air can come in by over 200%. Plus, I still have it shielded from the engine (and splashes), but it sucks in air from around the headlight and the hood.

The cost was better than AEM or AirRaid, but I probably won't get the gains they get. So far no whistling at idle or WOT either.

Unfortunately, the HP/MPG gains were removed when I did this mod.

On the plus side, my computer is now twice as fast

I wonder what would happen if you put the "TRAIL RATED" badge on there?

Isn't this approach referred to on sports compact forums as "cheap ram air"? I like it - don't know how effective it'll be, but I'm sure it's an improvement over stock, and I'm guessing you can't beat the price!

Nice job. Looks great, and like other people said, you can't beat the price.

It's on my laptop. It covers up the Acer badge.

Not much highway time, so only 1 tank since the mod. It was mostly city, and I guess maybe 15 miles more, but I can't say for sure, because my driving patterns weren't the same as the tank before, because I don't have a set schedule this month.
At the very least, it hasn't gone down any, and I have been getting on the gas more due to the noise.
