Homemade tow points in the front

I spanned 1/2" x 4" x 37" plate bolted to the frame rails welded 3/4" x 2-1/2 pieces to the front of the plate, cut holes in the stock bumper, trimmed out the holes and produced something that probably won't break
Was a good weekend job in the garage

no the tow points are right where the factory fogs would mount up. however, if you have a factory bumper with fog light cutouts in it the tow points would fit where the cutouts are

I made a post inquiring about something just like this!!! beautiful. any parts list? or how to on this? I want to do this exactly but was thinking about doing them where the bumper has the bump outs below the factory tow hooks as I have factory fogs.

I just added a picture at the top that shows how the structure is assembled.
The backer piece is 37" x 4" x 1/2" plate with a 20" x 1-1/2"x 1/2" stiffener welded to the backside of the 4" plate. The hitch lugs that come toward the front of the bumper that are welded on the backer plate are 2-1/2 x 3/4 x 5" long with 1-1/4 holes drilled thru.
I matched the 4hole pattern from each frame rail and drilled the backer plate the same. I drilled the holes bigger than I needed to so I could have some adjustment for good alignment . Hope that helps a little.
As far as putting tow points on the bump outs, I thought of the same but I steered away from that idea because of how far away from the frame rails the fabrication would end up. I was afraid that the torque applied during use of this type of setup would be a little spongy sticking out that far. Also how I made mine is pulling on both frame rails at the same time and ties them together as well.
If you wanted to relocate your fogs and assemble like what I have you could run the tow points thru the fog cutouts and fill the voids with some sort of rubber type foam material, just a thought.
