How to run 37s with flat flares, a 1" body lift, and 2.5"-3" suspension lift

I'm about to pull the trigger on new wheels and tires, and am looking for thoughts on my setup. First, this vehicle is my DD... I do not wheel. My JKUS is how I get to work... It's also how I get to the mountain for skiing... the beach... the campground... It spends the summer topless. It gets me where I want to go, when I want to go, regardless of weather. Always on a road. That being said... It's a 2008 JKUS automatic with a 3.8 L and 3.73. It has a TF 2.5 lift. The wheels I'm looking at have 4.5 BS. Tires will be 37" ATs. I will be cutting the pinch seams. I also plan on upgrading gears to 5.13 in the near future. Is this configuration doable? Are extended bump stops needed if I don't wheel?
1. Prevent shocks from bottoming out.
2. Prevent coils from over-compressing
3. Prevent the tires or body from being damaged from contact.
Your TF 2.5" lift has sufficient rear extended bumpstops if you are willing to aggressively trim the rear fender well pinch seam along the front and rear.
If you have flat flares, adjust the steering stops, trim the rear pinch seams, and have a rear bumper that provides sufficient clearance, the configuration is doable.
With an 08 automatic and 3.73s, just make it a habit of turning off the OD (overdrive) every time you turn on the engine. It will help your transmission last longer, and your highway rpms with 37s will be the same as if you ran 5.38 gears.

I thought 3.5" bs was recommended for 37's? If you're on 3.73's and plan on 37's in the mountains then you're going to hate yourself. You may also want to do C gussets so you don't bend your C's if you happen to hit a pothole on the highway with that large of a tire. You mention the beach and mountains with the early 3.8, have you also set aside money for a trans cooler?

37s with 4.5" backspaced wheels just require greater adjustment of the steering stops.
It is a good idea to at least gusset the Cs.
If he always turns off the OD, he won't have the transmission hunting that tends to overheat transmissions. Still, a tranny cooler is a good idea.

Thanks for the responses! It sounds like I should upgrade to 5.38 gears. I'll start checking into local pricing on parts and installation. I'll also check around to get c gussets done. Is it not possible to keep my stock flares? It sure looks like there's a lot of space under them. I've looked for wheels with less BS, but haven't had much luck... will have to adjust steering stops.
