Improved hood latchs
Doing updates with item numbers :-D 9/24/12
Got every thing at ace hardware minus rod ends

4 washers 1/4
2 Machined bolt hex end 2 inch long
4Pluming washers (not sure what they are called they have a rounded end )
2 retainer pins 2 1/2 inch wide
2 nuts 1/4
2 1/4 male rod ends (390309205122 eBay item number)
2 1/4 female rod ends (370609363447 eBay item number)

Use pliers or vice grips to break the bolt and pull off the old latch



Drill a 1/4 hole at the top of the bracket where your old latch sat and put in your rod end ajust as needed

Very nice! I almost bought the Drake ones but went with the Daystar rubber ones instead. Originally I wanted something like what you made so I could put a small hitch locking pin through it and keep the engine safe. Might have to switch to what you've come up with...

I personally just bought a much stighter set of day star rubber latchs. Worked perfectly. I am still thinking about getting something like the Drake ones.. Plus I love the name lol(it's my sons name lol)
I did it because at freeway speed.. The hood flutter going on would just make me nervous as all heck. Didn't like it, so mod was required. Just like my Hood Lift kit. I don't like fooling around with that hood pin crap.
