KC Windshield Light Write-Up

some people have questions on wiring up their KC's, so i took a few pics to help them out. wiring them is not that hard, being 17 i'm suprised i didn't do anything stupid and electricute myself... but i came out alright:ya:
here are some pics.

Going through the firewall i used a coat hanger to get through the foam hole. where the green and white wires come out to go to the switch as seen in these two pics.

in the next picture the brown wire that connects to the switch i grounded to a bolt that is already on the firewall, so no drilling

this next pic is the battery, where the yellow wire is connected to positive. the white wire needed to be trimmed and connected to a fitting. if you want to use the switch, and not wire the lights into your high beems, you must do this. the black wire i grounded to the bolt on the firewall in the back behind the battery.

if you follow the white zip ties thats where the green + white, along with the other bundled wires go. this bundle i speak of is the longer red and black wires. the shorter ones go to the passenger side. as the long extends to the driver side.

you can see the fuse box where the green and white wires come out of the conduit a bit
http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...6/HPIM0121.jpg
this is the drivers side wiring. i did not get any pics of the wiring that goes by the wiper motors, sorry guys but you take that piece behind the hood, infront of the windshield off after taking the wipers off and this is where the black and red wires go to connect to the light wires
http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...6/HPIM0122.jpg
then where the drivers side wires come out after putting that piece back,
http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...6/HPIM0123.jpg
Then the passenger side, same thing
http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...6/HPIM0118.jpg
http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...6/HPIM0119.jpg
and with everything wired right, your switch should light up, i made sure before i closed everything
http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...6/HPIM0114.jpg
and if your switch lights up, then mount your lights, connect them, and shwing!
http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...6/HPIM0116.jpg

just make sure they are even. like you don't have one light up in the air and the other pointing to your hood. also, before you're finished, tape the connections* (mine were vandalized -disconnected and the wires were stuck down infront of windshield) so tape them. and after the taping, since i had it all apart again any ways i put conduit on everything, making it look nice a clean.
so good luck with your lights guys:thumbsup:
