What is the purpose of a oil catch can?

 

To prevent oil vapor from the crank case from entering the intake.
Also, in some designs, to condense the vapor and route it back to the crank case.

 

How about a pic I have an idea of how it looks. If it has the pieces I'm thinking of you can get them at harbor Freight a lot cheaper.

 

A buddy of mine (a Dodge tech) just told me he has a 3.6l Pentastar torn down in the shop and the amount of oil in the intake and runners is unbelievable. He highly recommends a catch can for this engine. I am currently working with a company to see what they can do about this. They currently make catch cans for the 200, 300, Charger and Challenger with all corresponding hoses and bracketry. I will keep you all updated as to the outcome of our R&D.
