I did mine with gutter quard from home depot and made mistake of not taking the sticky adhesive off the little 1" squares that hold the zip ties. Had to redo, remove all the squares and used some hysol adhesive to attach the squares then re-zip ties all. I primed and painted red as well. Will post some in-process picks. Very easy and cheap mod.

I am pretty sure the brightness of the red depends on three things. One, what type of surface/color you paint on. Two, what type of gloss or primer you put on, if at all. And the fact that some stick kind of far back in the grill, so that the shadow and lack of sunlight makes it look less vibrant. Mine sticks out of the grill holes a bit so it's a little brighter.
Just what I found from mine.

Thank for all the help and input guys! I hear that if you just add some gorilla glue to the tape square pads they will hold up, is this true or should I remove the adhesive backs completely?

Definitely take the time to remove the sticky pads they come with... Also scuff up the bottom of the pad and scuff up the place you're going to glue to... If you take the extra time the first time you won't have to do it over again...

I even used a second type of epoxy on top to make it extra secure looks sloppy but no one sees that side anyways and let it sit over night.

Finally did the mod.

I used the plastic gutter guard.
