Mopar Door Entry Guards (Sill Protectors)
I had meant to follow-up on this thread - just "installed"
my sill guards today, and it's a great idea - can't believe that these aren't standard! On the driver's side (MY side), the sill paint had already picked up some nasty scrapes from road salt/sand that was on my boots. Luckily, the guards cover most of that up, and now I won't have to worry going forward. Thanks for the OP and idea, OJMiles.

Those look pretty nice. I thought i saw some Stainless Steel ones in the mopar catalogue for the jk too...?? I dunno maybe not. Im kinda upset about my door sills. I paid an extra 1200 on the price of my jk for "total body and under body rust protection" by a company called ziebart. Mostly cause I live on the beach. They drilled some crude holes around the sills and in the rear of my 2dr around where the soft top clips in. These holes have no paint protecting the bare drilled metal and have already begun to rust! What the hell? Boy I really got my $1200 worth...
Also 1200 seems a bit high. I got the full Ziebart for 400 something... I did get the 7 year warrany and overseas protecton plan. That ran about 1500 together.
thanks for the writeup OJMiles, i just installed mine. looks great....almost is if they should have been in there IN THE FIRST PLACE!

Tried this with my old TJ. I went to a skate board store and bought some deck material about 2 feet in length and 10 inches wide and peel and stick. I cut strips and glued them in place being careful not to place it where the weatherstrip contacted the body. It lasted for three years before I had to replace it and it came off with a blowdryer to warm it up. I also did the bottom of the tailgate opening, all for about $6. When the weather gets a bit warmer I plan to do the same to my JK.
Are these invisible with the door shut? I have seen some of the TJ ones that stick out past the door (and down the side of the body), and I don't want something visible with a closed door.
I haven't hunkered down to try and look "through" the gap at the bottom of the door, but they're definitely not visible on mine with the doors closed, and look good enough with the doors open.
The plastic ones are a perfect match to the JK's interior. Same plastic, same diamond pattern as the bottom of the doors. They should have come as a standard feature instead of an aftermarket item.
