My ghetto door sill solution

Well after a ridiculous amount of cursing and some beers, I managed to install my very own door sill things. Although they just cover part of it they do their job. No more scratches from my big boots.
So first I found these L shaped pieces of metal while cleaning my garage. Then I had a vision. So I measured where I wanted to put them and I think it was 19 inches? I could be wrong. So I cut them to the appropriate size with a hacksaw( which was a pain) then sanded them some and cleaned them. Then I bought some double sided heavy duty tape and I put them on. I also put one of the ends under the bottom lip of where that plastic comes on contact with the metal.
I think it looks cool. Someone told me to drills holes to keep them in place instead of the tape :what?::rotflmao2:
Even though the metal already had holes in them to begin with but I wasn't gonna spend any money for non hole ones.

Total cost was $5 for me(just the tape)

Congrat's! Look's cool no-matter how inexpensive. What really strike's me is how easy you'll be able to keep that area clean. I've got Black Mopar pieces and there kind of a pinta.

I have the mopar ones, and for the price I think they're great.!

Don't get me wrong, I like them but the diamond pattern is a challenge to keep clean.

I'm all for homemade mods. There's something about putting your own brain into something you want to do. It looks great, and professional.
