Default Painted Door Lock Black

I was just sitting in my garage last week, admiring my new jeep and trying to figure out what else I can do to it and just decided to tape off the key lock and paint it flat black enamel. No big deal, but it does look better.

Super Easy! Just tear off two inch strips of masking tape and go around the lock. Get a paper towell and grab the center and pull up a few inches, cut it and you have a perfect circle to tape off (so you dont get overspray) and spray with a good quality enamel. (Spray about three fine coats on, waiting about three minutes between coats) No need for primer, obviously clean before painting. It may not stay on forever but it so easy to re-spray if needed.
I use my keyfob to unlock so there will never be a key used for the lock.

I painted mine textured black , looks good against the greystone. Easy to do.

Kinda funny ... my 97 Cherokee Country in Gunmetal Blue had glossy black door locks from the factory.

That was one of my first mini-mods when I got my JK last March. No extra cash, but I had to do something! Looks as good today as the day I did it.

What would be even more durable than paint would be to remove them and have a Locksmith install black caps and dust slider.
