PLEASE Need help to chose the best tires for my needs
Hi, I need help to chose the best tires for my jeep.
What I have:
- 2010 JK Unlimited
- SR-A 255/75R17 on stock Moab wheels
- Nokian Nordman 4 for winter (very good on ice and ok in snow) that I use on the same Moab wheels
- 3/4" coil spacer front and 3/4" coil spacers back
- No wheel spacers
- No lift (other than 3/4" coil spacers)
What I want:
- New tires with a more aggressive look then the SR-A
- Tires that will come out of the flare a maximum of 1/4" to 1/2"
- I want to keep my original Moab wheels that I love
- Will buy wheel spacers if I need too
What I don't want:
- I don't want to put a lift because I carry someone in a wheel chair
- No mud tires (don't do mud)
- No heavy tires
- Loose a lot of MPG (gas)
My driving:
- I live in Canada (Montreal) and we have hot summer and cold winter (ICE and SNOW...lot of SNOW)
- 75% city driving
- 20% highway driving
- 5% mild...very mild offroad (no rocks but a bit of everything else)
Was looking at:
- Hankook Dynapro AMT RF10
- GY Duratrac
- BFG A/T
- ?????
I love that look

My vote is for the duratracs
I had a jeep CJ with bfg ta k/o'S. They were 30 X 9.5's.
Now I have 33 x 10 something duratracs on my 2012 JKU. Without lift, only rubbing was at full turn when backing up.
The Duratrac's are quieter than the AT KO's, even though they are a wider tire. They are mounted on XD monsters, which have them sticking out of the fender wells, but not outrageous. I prefer the wider stance, more stable.
Using them out here on the wet coast, and they have yet to slip at all. In addition, We had a few inches (4-6) of snow before Xmas, never needed to put it in 4 wheel drive.

Go with the duratracs. I had a set when I lived in Northern Virgina. We got 24" of snow over night and then another 27" within a week. Never ran into any trouble, no spinning tires and no sliding.

I think bfg at's are a good choice. They are good in snow, sand, street, rocks.. My friend just replaced his with 54,000 miles on them and a dozen tough wheeling trips.
Our work truck has Cooper at3 and they seem nice. Moderately aggressive for an at but wear great.
