Default Proclip type cell phone or GPS mount on the left side of radio

Didn't see any cell phone mounts for the left side of the radio. Lots of choices out there and this subject has been beat to death, so, here is yet another way of doing it.

Was super easy to do. If anyone is interested in the template I can scan it and copy it actual size. Well, I did 2 templates before I was happy and the second one changed a little from the one I can scan. Anyway, I used a piece of alum I found laying around. Drew out the rough shape I wanted and started cutting it out and bending it as I went. I used a little cheap small harbor freight brake to do the bends.

I did buy pro-fit stuff for my bracket tho. I bought the T-slot clips and holders so I can pull the phone and mount the GPS if needed. I bought a little T-slot Garmin ball mount too.

I bent up the piece, trimmed the back of the radio bezel smooth, roughed it up a bit and used 2 part epoxy to hold it in place. Feels very sturdy. I sanded it and sprayed it flat black before installing, and in retrospect, I should have used the sandy looking rattle can bedliner stuff. Oh well, done now. I don't really like the cell phone mount. I am prolly going to get a T-slot sleeve mount for it.

1st attempt prebending

Larger second try (already bent, forgot to take pic while it was till flat)

Test fit - actually very snug as it is without glue

Drilled for T-slot adapter and primed

Some finished shots

And now that I am seeing the pics, I may pull it back off tomorrow, tape up the bezel, and bedline it.

Anyway, just another way to hold your device.

Thanks,
Chad
