Rear door window replacement
I can email some pictures from factory proceedures and give you those, but they suck and I will not attempt to push the limits that far.
1. Clean up all the glass you can.
2. Remove inner door panel.
3. Roll window to the top, insure no glass is in the clip.
4. Roll window to bottom.
5 Remove all the rubber and rear mini window.
6. Remove door from vehicle.
7. Tiltl door updise down repeatedly to get loose glass out.
8. Do everything possible to get glass out without removing inner modular panel, it's a bitch.
9. With rear mini-window and all rubber removed, insert new glass into clip.
10. Lube rear mini-window rubber with some dish soap and put it back in.
11. Make sure big window moves with ease.
12. Install rubber stuff one part at a time repeating step 11 after each new part.
13. Roll new window to full up position and tighten mini-window bolt.
14. Replace inner door panel.
Notes:
Supposidly you can put it in without removing the little window. I am not that brave at the cost of $175.00 a chance. I made an attempt and was not comfortable with binding the window any further. All instructions call for you to remove the inner/ modular panel to remove the old glass. I started this and decided I would rather try to rape a hedgehog once I read into all the stuff involved. I managed to get 95% of the glass out of the door from turning it back in multiple directions and shaking it. If you are a smaller person you may need assistance with this. What was left after that was not worth my effort and will eventually fall out of the drain holes maybe. If not, refer to the hedgehog thing, choose your vice. I reccomend dish soap as a lube for the rubber gaskets due to it is easily removed if you over do it. Any outside soap will just wash away with rain or normal washing. Unless you used 48 ounces per every 1/4 inch, any inside dish soap will dry up and that is it other than a little crusty stuff if yo do it again you may see it.
Tools Used:
Phillips Screwdriver
Torx driver
10 or 11 mm socket and driver
Joy dish soap
Shop-Vac 16 gallon Vac
Body and trim tools ( careful flat blade screwdriver work will work fine) from who knows where I bought them
BudLight 18 pack...note: all beers are not needed for this install.
