Switch cluster with 40 amp relays under the hood.

Ooooooh, I'm no electrician so I'm not sure. But, it would seem that if you did what I did (except run the wire from the relay to your own switch/plate) that it would work exactly the same. But I'm not sure, and at the cost of those switches I would be making damn sure it will work before I just started cutting into some wires. Also, you should probably add some type of main shut off switch somewhere too so it doesn't accidentally get turned on.

I agree on the safety switch idea. From the diagram in above post it looks like you take the pos & neg wires from the cig lighter and one wire from the relays. My question is does the locker button supply the relay with 12volts or ground? It depends on how the switch is wired

I believe it grounds the relay, but I would have to look back at my wiring diagram to be sure.

Call SPoD and speak with John Angelastro. I still need to get an SPoD for my JK. I had one on my TJ, and did a locker bypass mod using the SPoD. John helped me figure out how to do it.

Do you mean your stock '08 locks in 4hi?

My '08 doesn't lock in 4 hi. It's not a matter of when they changed it. It's supposed to lock only in 4lo from the beginning.

Put it in 4hi, then jack up the axle you want to lock. Lock it and spin a tire by hand. See what happens.

I bought it used the last owner must of changed it with a programmer then. I also can switch between rear front or both depending how many times I press it.

Switching between rear or front and rear is a factory option. But lockers were never available in 4 hi. Like you stated before, the previous owner must have done something. You dont have any buttons to press... they just simply work in 4 hi?

Ya no extra switch and I can feel it pull around corners when engaged. I had thought that's how the 08s were till I got on this thread.
