Seat belt alarm disable
#24
I used the procedure out of the owners manual and it worked fine. I remember having a ford pickup that wouldn't shut off and I took it into the sales dept where I bought the truck and they shut it off for me.

Wow - this is the single best thing I have taken from this forum. I just went outside in the middle of the night to do this. Thank you! What an annoying problem that was...

My Jeep didn't last a day with the seat belt dinger hooked up. I'm one of the crazies that reads the owners manual when i buy a vehicle lol, amazing the plethora of information!

Thanks for the help.
I just wanted to say thank you to dmhines. The pic was worth a thousand words. I never leave the garage without fastening my seat belt, nor does anyone that drives with me, BUT, the damn thing is sounding for no reason. I'll be driving along with the seat belt done up, having driven for 15 min, and all of a sudden I'll turn on a signal and BAM, the darn thing will start chiming!
The dealer looks at me like I'm imagining it, and says they can't replicate it.
I tried the manual instructions until my fingers bled, and it would ding to indicate that it had been disabled, but it continued to chime away.
This was the solution. Simple and effective, and very very much appreciated.
Thank you dmhines.

You can also get a seatbelt extension from jeep for free (or at least they used to be) and plug that in and leave the seatbelt off.
Not to be a wet blanket but you should really be careful 4 wheeling without a seatbelt. I was talking to one member that had to be air lifted to a hospital after they ate the windshield frame. Everyone else in the jeep was fine (because they had their seatbelts on). Point is when your 4 wheeling, especially with any speed, terrain can change in a hurry.

Hmmm... I'm thinking I'll keep mine on since I never have my doors on.... I might fall out if I hit one of these q-tip in florida....
But great idea for the "doors on rig"
