Great job! Looks better than the one that doesn't come with the Jeep. Just don't forget to turn it off.

John L, Where did you run the ground wire to after cutting it from the base plate?

Thanks
Billy

Default Underhood light

I'm interested in knowing how well the plastic lens cover holds up to underhood heat. Just wondering if the plastic will turn brown over time.

Let us know.

I didn't use the ground wire after I cut it off. The light is grounded through the hood, which is grounded to the body via the ground strap in the pic.

After 4 months, the light is still as it looks in the photo. I was worried about discoloration too, but all is well so far. This has probably been the most useful mod I've done so far.

John L, I thought i would give you some props. this is a great mod. Really does light up the engine area quite well.

I thought mine might not look so cool without the underhood insulation. But it actually turned out pretty good i think. I used some shorter self tapping machine screws which worked well. However, i did have some trouble with the screws used to fasten the clear cover on.

Works nice! Thanks Buddy.

PS........I find it funny that WOL posted this under Performance in his Write-Up index. John that means that i will be expecting at least 5 HP gain and 5-10 MPG gain. I will keep my fingers crossed
