Default winch cover ideas

Has any one built a cover to enclose / cover their winch? I have been using a Warn nylon cover to keep the road salt off the winch but it sux and its ugly as hell. I have been thinking about how how to make almost like a half box that would secure to the top of the bumper. I have a Rock Hard bumper with a recessed winch plate...I would not be able to hinge the cover....maybe some strong magnets or somethin? I would love to know if anybody has done something like this.

I don't know if I'd trust magnets or not.....I'm thinkin about an impact kinda thing. Might become a projectile. You gotta pic of your bumper? That might spark some imagination.

my wife made one for our old CJ-5 quite a few years ago. I bought an old spare tire cover from a friend and my wife measured the winch and made the cover. The took a bungee cord and sewed it into it's own seam at the bottom. It held in place well and we never lost it. Warn does make hard covers for their winches. try the website.

I know you want to get away from the simple cover. But I got a neoprene one from mile marker and it is ALOT nicer then the nylon ones! My wife even approved of it!

I used a black trashbag. Gladlock flex extra strength! It worked well during our snow fall.
