Be SURE to run your power wire SEPARATE from your remote turn on wire/RCA wires to prevent noise in your sub! b. Keep it simple: i. If you run the power cord along the passenger side of the Jeep to the front passenger footwell, there’s already a grommet that you can pierce with a knife, coat hanger, utility knife (be careful not to cut any existing wires) ii. PICTURE OF FOOTWELL LOCATION: Here are a few Pics of the finished project I hope this helps!
Will this work: So here's what I am thinking. I have a switch that says "passenger eject". I am adding subwoofers to round out my system, but really I am not planning on running them all the time. (I got kids man) so does anyone see a problem with me running the remote line from the Line Level Converter to the amp and running the power and ground from the 30 amp switch on the SPOD? That way I can have the bass on when I want and off when I want? But when the ignition is off it will turn off even when left on?

All you really have to do is run the remote wire for the amp to the switch. The remote wire is what turns on the amp. Or I guess run the remote wire from the amp to the spot on the spod that particular switch controls. I don't have an spod so I'm not 100% sure

Does anyone have the diagram of the sub wires I need to splice and run through the LOC? I'm planning on doing this from the back of the H/U.

That URL to the wiring is no longer working in the original post.

Hello!
This is my first write up on the forum…

PURPOSE; To make it MUCH easier for anyone looking to find answers on how to install an aftermarket sub/sub amp to your JK with Infinity system.

ASSUMPTIONS;
· You are Keeping stock head unit & infinity amp to run all speakers EXCEPT sub.
I did this to keep stock appearance
· You do not want to invest in an expensive aftermarket harness to add this amp/sub.
· Running all new power/ground/remote turn on lead for new sub amp.

· It can be difficult to find the following data you need on the following in one place on the forum:
i. How/where to connect remote turn on lead wire.
ii. How to connect new amp INPUT RCA’s/ line level inputs to stock head unit. (via LOC)
iii. Where to run Amp wiring through the firewall.

Let’s answer each of these:
i. How do you connect a remote turn on lead for your amp (if your amp requires it)

a. Notes:
i. There is NOT a remote turn on lead on the stock headunit (non mygig)
ii. The stock unit uses a CAN BUS system to notify the Infinity amp it is on
iii. As a result, your aftermarket amp will be on whenever ignition is on, NOT necessarily coinciding with whether or not your radio is on, since you cannot wire directly to the head unit.
iv. VERY IMPORTANT TIME SAVER: if you are going to get an LOC (see ii below to get an audio signal for your amp, GET ONE that provides a remote turn on lead, and save your self all the rest of these steps in b, c below!)

b. There are several locations to hook up a remote turn on lead
i. cigarette lighter
ii. fuse box
iii. steering column (this is the one I chose)
c. STEERING COLUMN REMOTE TURN ON LEAD CONNECTION WRITE UP:

vii. Splice your remote turn on wire from amp to this wire

Great post. My JK didn't come with a sub and after 12 years I found an original, aftermarket Infinity sub. There is a plug at the back that fits the sub. My question is where do I find the end of these wires (4 wires: green b/w and grey b/w) in the front? one of the photos on the original post "Wire location A: " is showing a black plug that seems to be exactly what I should use but I can't find any. Mind I have an AU version with the wheel on the right side. Any help will be appreciated.
