Just to keep you updated... the Jeep JK Mexico event was a great success! JKs from all over Mexico and even one from California, USA.
3 days of great wheeling, fun times... a great learning experience for many Mexican JKers. Here's some pictures: To get to Real de Catorce, you have to drive through a 1.8 mile mining tunnel: https://farm3.static.flickr.com/2722...c7b8bef5_o.jpg This is the mining town on the other side of the tunnel, dating from the early 1700's. At one time populated with over 15,000 people. Today, less than 500. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2491/...e7163648_o.jpg Numerous trails that once saw silver ore carried out by donkey cart, are now ideal 4x4 trails http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2434/...35de7e9a_o.jpg Ghost towns and ruins are everywhere: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2534/...520b5bf5_o.jpg Hundreds of miles of trails in the Catorce mountain range http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2638/...084034c5_o.jpg Vestiges of a prosperous bygone era are everywhere: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2717/...63ae7e14_o.jpg Many challenging trails for stock JKs: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2589/...4b80810b_o.jpg Abandoned missions and churches to explore, if you can get to them: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2767/...ff2a2ed4_o.jpg Challenging stuff to get up to the alpine area: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2630/...b62158b7_o.jpg Running up a gulley http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2573/...c7b911bd_o.jpg |
