Default $1900 Too Much For Gears?

Hey guys.....first, i HAVE done the searches on gears and finally decided to go with 5.13's from Yukon....however, the shop I wanted to install them wants to charge me $1900 out the door.

From what i've seen you guys have been paying around $1100 - 1500 installed....

Anyone think he's lost his mind? Are there any good jeep shops in CT that I should look into?

Thanks for the input.....

Dave

That is pretty steep.

We have the gears and overhaul kits for 550 shipped so then you would be paying 1350 for labor.

I would look elsewhere.

I paid 1800 for the gears and labor total out the door... so 1900 is steep.

WOW That is high,

Off Road Evolution here just did mine for $1000 and they are probably the top 4X4 shop out there. Just look in any four wheeler, JP, off road etc magazine.

But let me tell you gears are probably one of my favorite mods to date!!

In my area $1200-1300 is the average out the door (parts and labor). I know every area is a little different, but that seems very steep to me.

It will range but I dont think anybody should pay more than 500 per axle for labor.

That would put it all about 1550 .

So I did some searching for you. Call Josh at Altered Image Customs in Plainfield, CT. He just quoted me $1000 for 13 hrs of labor to install front and rear. Not sure who you went with for the $1900 quote but I would keep looking. At most call Northridge and order the parts through them and then have a shop install them. That way you know that you are getting good parts.

Thanks for the info.....but...ummm where did you find "Josh"....how do you know of his shop?

The guy that quoted me was actually not the installer....he was the guy that installed my lift kit, etc....i'm sure he padded his gear shop's quote with a few bucks for the hassle....i'm gonna go elsewhere...
