16" or 17" Wheels?

I was just about to buy 17" rims and now I'm not so sure. Who went with 16's on their ruby, and what were the reasons? I know cost is a big one.

Thanks :)

I have 18's and am going back with 18's with my PSC wheels. Why would you not be so sure about 17's?

With 35 inch tires, I went with 16's. I wanted a bit more sidewall.

I will also be running 37's with 17's.

You will get way more options with a 17. Sixteen inch wheels are slowly fading out. The trend seems to be 17's and 18's with a larger tire.

bigger wheels will give you less sidewall to damage off-road and give a better ride on-road. but, when you air-down a tire on a larger wheel, you have more potential for wheel damage.

I went to 16's for more sidewall, but I also saved about $40 apiece for tires as a bonus!!!:toung: :eek2: :yup:

I damaged my brand new( first time out) AEV Plinter. One week old....it's trashed and replaced.

I still can't decide. The price difference between 16 and 17 tires is negligable. I like the additional sidewall on the 16" tire though.... time for a poll. :D

Be sure and include 15" wheels in your poll. :yup:

Yep, me too. Except I went to 15's and saved even more!

I'm going with 15" wheels and 35" tires. I like having as much side wall as possible for better grip and a better (off road) ride when aired down.
