I'm also thinking I might need a little bit more back spacing to run 35's and eventually 37's.

Any specific reason for the 16s? I bought mine that way due to already having the tires I wanted, but if I did it again I'd go with 17s. There's already more options for tires in that size and I'd imagine in a few more years that will definitely be the case.

I kinda like the look of the extra side wall, and maybe I'm thinking incorrectly (feel free to correct me) but it seems a tire with a little more side wall could conform to the terrain better when aired down.

There are plenty of 35s and 37s in 16 inch rim. The problem with 17s and up is tires get expensive quick. Forthis very same reason some people run 15s on ther jeeps.

I like the look of 17s, but I'll stick with 16s unless I get a really good deal.

That's the problem I'm having a hard time finding 16's other then steel, I'm probably just looking in the wrong places, but does any one know where I can get something similar to the 7105 in a 16?

That depends more on the tire construction than the rim height. It's only 1/2 inch difference on the same diameter tire. Things like load range and sidewall construction play more of a factor there than sidewall height (assuming same overall diameter of tire.) If you were talking different diameters, then that would be more of a factor.

They may be cheaper, but you're pretty much limited to steel rims and even then some modifications are necessary (grinding calipers.) If the Jeep engineers thought 15s in steel could be safely/smartly used, they would have (would have save Jeep money after all!)

I know some people do this, but my stance came from talking to those who did and checking clearances on mine with a rim. The clearance on the 16s is about the least I'd want to see.

There are options, yes. Some lines have the same as the 17, some less, but that's changing everyday trending towards less. The tire & auto industry is basically making 17 the new 15. Look at the options offered in new designs (Duratrac, MTR Kevlar, etc.) and you'll see the trend. Especially on tires with diameters over 33". They're following the auto industry's lead now, and most work trucks in the last 2 years now use a 17" steel rim. Jeep went to 17" on most of their vehicles.

Procomp has the 7028, 7031 and 8128. Similar, but not the same.

Most of ProComp's wheels are made in 16" size
