17'JKUR+3" Teraflex+Timbren=Good Tow Setup???
So I have a small box trailer I use to haul dirt bikes and camp in. It's an IntechRV Explore. LOVE the trailer. Awesome little work horse. Best little camper I could imagine!
I have a 2017 JKUR Recon. My dream of a new suspension set up is the Teraflex CT3 lift with Alpine control arms and Falcon shocks. I'd like to keep from riding on the factory bump stops when the trailer is full. Right now, there's about an inch of space. I don't like it, but is what it is. I thought about getting the Timbren SES stops to fix that, but wondering how that'll affect the lift/suspension travel/etc in the future when that goes on. I don't want to get stiffer springs. I would like to stick to bump stops instead of airbags. I thought about that route but with the newer longer springs I don't know about the airbags meant for OEM length springs you know? The TeraFlex uses bump stops in the rear that look similar to OEM, so I'm HOPING the Timbren could just replace those! IIRC, they include a plate that raises the surface which strikes the bump stop, so in my mind, the bump stop should be OEM length, which means the Timbren should work, no? The timbrens are something I looked into briefly in the past, there wasn't much info on them in the past. Air bags are easy enough, you just call the manufacturer with your ID coil measurements and they'll find you a bag. They don't limit travel in my experience and definitely helped with a load. I used to have a set with 2" coils and a heavily loaded 5x10' trailer.

I've towed a 5000 pound coachman blast toy hauler many miles in the east coast with my 2012 Jku. In my opinion, a Smittybilt XRC rear bumper combined with a weight distribution hitch is the best towing improvement you can make. The xrc bumper ties the receiver area into your frame rails eliminating the flex that can happen with the stock receiver. The weight dist hitch throws more weight into your front wheels, allowing the rear to sag less.
