How much higher were you before you put the bumpers & winch on? & how close to stock does she ride? Looks good btw

Maybe my boring build thread (link in sig) will have some info worth reading.

Very nice write-up.

I’m still torn btwn these two lift kits:

When I build my vehicles I like to try to keep everything as close to OEM as possible which is why the Mopar lift kit is one of my options. But then again I love Eibach products as I have used them in the past with my previous build.

Traded my soft top plus $600 for a hard top yesterday. Next will be the 2.5” lift & wheels/tires.

The OME (Old Man Emu) on mine actually looks closer to OEM than the Mopar lift (pun intended). Here's my 2 cents worth of comparison...

Both those kits in the links look like they are adding bump stop length, as well as some significant shock length (down travel). This is common, the reason being clearance for 35" tires with stock fenders.

On the other hand, the OME lift on mine keeps the factory bump stop length and adds barely an inch of down travel with the shocks, and the brake lines and driveshafts stay stock. Total suspension travel is likely similar with all these lifts, but the lifts with extra bump stops travel ~2" less up than stock (based on guessing that there is an additional 2" of bump stop and 3" of shock length). With stock bump stops the max tire is a 285-70/17 (with an added washer to the steering stops) unless the fenders are trimmed or replaced, which isn't a bad way to go at all.

I netted about 2.25 with the metal cloak 1.5†dr kit. It’s pretty basic but is great, I also am running Fox 2.0 Remote resi shocks and am extremely pleased. I would recommend a kit with trac bars and upper control arms over brackets (true dual rate from Mc) just select the 2.5†2 dr option If your running a 4 dr.
I’m running on black Rhino York wheels 4.5 BS 9†wide and have full bumpers armor winch, etc....Click image for larger version

I had the bumpers and winch long before the lift so I'm not sure how much I would have netted without them. As far as ride goes, it feels close to stock only noticeably stiffer. I attribute this to the E rated tires more than the lift though, as they both went on around the same time. I should also mention that I opted to go with the JKS front lower control arms which are slightly longer than stock and keep the caster in check and keep the "flighty" feeling away.
