Default 2008 with 37's

I was talking to my local shop today and discussing the installation of 35's or 37's. I wanted to go the 37 route, but he told me going any bigger than 35 would mess with the ESP system and cause problems.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I don't think 37's are going to mess anything up worse than 35's will. The ESP is more affected by changes from the suspension lift, i.e. changes in axle alignment and pinion angles than the tires themselves. This is why the nice lifts have adjustable control arms and either adjustable track bars or brackets to use the stock track bars.

If I were you I wouldn't use that shop, at least until they are more knowledgeable about your JK.

I haven't noticed the ESP kicking in any more with 37's than I did with 35's. I am having occasional "death wobble" issues with the 37's, but that is more likely due to the increased front end lift and me not paroperly changing the front track bar geometry.

You could always turn ESP completely off in a 2008.

my thaughts are the shops full of shit, and doesnt know what they are talking about..

As long as you get a good lift, to correct pinion angles and steering issues, you wont have any problems

I Am Running 38.5 Tall Tires On A 6" Skyjacker Long Arm And Also Am Using A 1.5 Inch Spacer On The Front To Level Off My 08' And The Only Time My Esp Comes On Is Around A Real Fast Turn And It Seems Turning Right Does It More Often Than Turning Left. Otherwise It Does Not Come On Anytime Other Than That, But I Don't Usually Offroad Just Driving Around Town.
