2009 JK 4 wheel drive not engaging
 

Hi Folks, Was out 4x4ing last weekend and after 10 miles of bouncy lava fields, my 4 wheel drive does not engage. The shifter moves freely with no resistance.

Sounds like a broken cable.

More likely than a broken cable is the bushing on either end is missing/ broken. The bushings are cheap and the resources on the net and YouTube are plentiful for replacing it.

For a permanent fix get the Advance Adapters replacement cable.
