It's a myth. I have a rusty's 3.25" kit and have never hit. I wheel my Jeep all the time and have yet to have it hit. It did hit before I installed my shocks(which limit your drop). I have had mine on a lift several times and when the suspension is at full hang I still have half an inch of clearance. You will still eventually need to swap out your front driveshaft, but the exhaust is just fine til about 4 inches or more of lift.

If its not hitting then your limiting your shock travel.

It wasn't hitting with the shocks fully extended. When the shocks are fully extended you can move my spring by jerking on it, so I wouldn't want any longer shocks. This setup is very nice and the only way I could get any more travel would be coilovers.

And, I say again, I have never hit. Even when my jeep has been on a lift.

On my 2012 JKU Man 6 speed, with a 2.5" speacer lift, i ive enough room for my shaft, at the installation of my kit, when everything was loose down , ok it was hitted, but with the shock attached no more hit, and maybe i'm wrong but the flex can't go further than the shock lengh ,no???

He speaks the truth. I have a 3" Teraflex Suspension Lift with Bilstein 5100's and at before my front axle gets to full droop i WAS hitting my cross pipe. In my particular situation it was because i was using the Bilstein's used for 3-4" lift which have more travel.

I ended up doing the AFE Y-Pipe which completely solved my issue.

Teraflex spacers are the best I've seen so far. Some other kits include two spacers that are the same length while Teraflex has two spacers with different lengths to compensate for the two different angles on the pipes.

Also why is everyone posting pics of their rig flexing? Boot/exhaust contact happens at full DROOP.
