Guys read through the thread and I did not see it mentioned.

I am hearing that on 2012s if you try and regear to anything over 4.10s the Jeep will go into limp mode and will not go over like 8mph. I heard ProCal or factory reset of your computer is needed to restore normal settings. Anyone else hearing this?

Why regear if you are going to half-ass it and not recalibrate?

I have not heard this. It does not make any sense though, it's also illegal to drive without it calibrated. But I mean... Whose gonna know? Ha

I have a 2012 2 door and can burn my 33 12.5s off with ease with my auto and 3.73s. I think 4.10s with 35s would work with both the auto and the manual.

I honestly think with the new motor you shouldn't even worry about regearing if you have 4.10's and 35's. That's what I am going to run as my first set of upgrades. Ome 3" and I am gold for awhile.

What will running 33's be like on a 2012 Rubicon with 4.10's? I heard you don't even notice them and the fuel consumption barley changes. And on top of it all there's a tuner on the way for the 2012

Default 2012 OEM Lift Kits

Congrat's on your 2012 JKU. You said you have a 2012 with a 3" OEM lift... Talking to my dealer, MOPAR only has a 2" and a 4" lift available for the 2012 JKU's. Yes they have Stage 1 or Stage 2 available for each lift height, it's just a difference in shocks that come with the kit. So were you able to put a 2011 OEM lift on your 2012 and did you have any problems with installation? Thanks

He said OME not OEM.

OME stands for Old Man Emu, a brand of lift.

Thanks guys
I have a JKU Rubi 6-speed, just finished my lift and have been on 35's for about a week now and haven't done any freeway driving. I know thats not much time to get the full feel but from what I can tell and could tell immediately was that there is no need for a regear. The increased tire size actually feels better matched than the stock tires did, the gearing felt too low and I'd have to shift from 1st to 2nd rather quickly. There is plenty of power and I have no issues pulling into traffic. Crawling up the small rock section I tried it on felt a little faster than stock but that may have been all in my mind though. Regardless it had plenty of torque and performed really well. At this point I don't really plan on a regear but if I were to do it I'd prob go no lower that 4.56's for 35's and maybe 4.88's for 37's (no experience with 37's). JMO.

I was plagued with the same problem. I looked for over 2 and a half months for a JKU Rubi with a 6-speed in any color and with any options. There were maybe a dozen within a 1000mi radius. I kept looking until I could take it no more and ended up ordering mine. I tried ordering one early on but there was a build restriction. If you want the 6-speed and don't need it immediately that may be what you want to do as well... I don't have any experience in a 2012 with an auto but I like the driver input of a 6-speed therefore thats why I purchased it.
