33" Nitto Mud Grappler Pressure?

I have found posts saying pressure in a 33" Mud Grappler should be between 30 and 34PSI. I just had these tires put on my Jeep yesterday and they guy aired them to 45PSI and said that was ideal, but I could run them lower pressure if the ride was too stiff. Is he way off is saying they should be 45psi? I am thinking of airing them down to the low 30 range for road use.

I had Nitto Terra Grabbers and was told to keep the pressure at 45 psi by Discount Tire. After several thousand miles of a very rough ride, I discovered the center of the tread was wearing faster than the outside. I lowered the pressure to 35 psi and found the wear pattern was better and the ride much improved. When I tow my motorcycle trailer, I increase the pressure to 45 on the rear just to increase the load capacity and air down when I unhitch.

Q: On the road, what PSI should I be running in my tires?
A: For optimal comfort and even tire wear. you should not run the recommended PSI listed on the sidewalls of your tires. Typically this will be way too much. On average for a 33" tire, I would recommend that you run your tires at approximately 28-30 PSI. For a 35" tire, I would recommend running approximately 26-28 PSI. For a 37" tire, I would recommend approximately 24-26 PSI.
