Default 33s and 35s on 17s VS 35s and 37s on 20s

I am speaking of just sidewall width , people say that 35s or 37s on 20s is not enough sidewall for doing off roading

But 33s and 17s is ok and have no problem with that setup and 35s on 17s Is optimal range but we know that a lot of 35s don't measure a true 35 ( and I know this doesn't count for all 35s ) but the ones that measure 34

So let's get down to it and find out what is really worst

And for reference 37s on 20s

I dont have measurements , but im sure there is plenty of sidewall with 20's and 37's. I feel like it might be said theres not enough to wheel is because people dont want to scratch up their 20's lol. I dont really think 20's have a need to be anywhere close to a jeep, but thats just me.

For off roading I would take a 37 x 12.50 x 17 over a 37/20 for the added sidewall by the possibility of decreasing further the tire pressure. with the 17" wheel you still keep a good sidewall stability for both on and off road. Lower sidewall are better on the street for added stability and less sidewall flexing when cornering at high speed.

Right and very true , but I didn't say 37 on 17s because that is a good setup

Nothing is wrong with wheeling stock 32's on 17's and nothing is wrong with wheeling 35's on 20's, but neither is ideal and both have same side wall.

Picture is worth a 1000 words. What do you think will work better in the rocks aired down to 9-10 psi??

If you like 20's, run em.

Right but you don't hear no one say that on those kind of threads , so why is that

Lol quite frankly, not many people like the way 20" wheels look. Sorry facts of life. Go on a hummer, Chevy or Dodge forum and try to gain support for 15" wheels. You'll be a minority. Just facts of life.

Right you can't compare those two together when it comes down to it , because thats like comparing 33s on 17a to 37s on 37s which one do you think is better

35s on 15s is a very nice setup for airing down

But like I said before I am only talking about these sizes ,

I gotcha man. The point I have, there's really no advantage to a big ole wheel on jeep. But if you want em, go for it. Some guys like big boobs, some like small ones
