I just put on a 2.5 RK and netted almost 4" with stock bumpers and 35x12.5r17 Toyo MTs. I think 34s with 3.5 RK would look off.

3.5 MC Springs
305/70/17 MTR/K They measure exactly 33.25 @ 28psi
When Im towing the rear drops by 1.25" and looks decent, otherwise its too much lift and would look much better with a 2.5".
Im going to have to get 37's to fill those fenders....

I have the RK 2.5 lift. With Barricade front and rear steel bumpers I still am at a net lift of 3". If I went with flat fenders I'd have room for 37s.

I've decided the 3.5 is out! NEED and want are two different things lol. Really I do just fine with 2". But want springs instead of pucks so when I put the bumpers on. The leveling kit was a cheap temporary option for when I needed tires. But the 285/75-17s with 2" leveling kit looks great with stock bumpers! After 7 weeks my Rock Hard tube sliders cam in and I absolutely love them on the Jeep! Slow process but it's coming together. I really don't think I'll ever go 35's. The 34's are a really nice size at 33.25 mounted. I think the narrower tire helped with not losing much power.

I agree that 3.5" is overkill for 34's. If you plan to go larger down the road though, go for it. I went with the JKS 2.5 lift because I wanted a milder build, and didn't want to mess with drag-link flip or other issues with a lot of lift. I'm running the Toyo AT2 285/75R17, and even with 2.5 lift the tires do seem a bit small to me, in person anyway. Though to be honest, I'm pretty sure I netted more than 3" in the front. I'm happy with the skinny size for mpg sake, but I'll definitely upgrade to a 35 at some point. For the record, my tires measure exactly 33" mounted and with the jeep's weight on them. Using the 33" setting with my Procal, the speedo is dead nuts with gps to over 70mph.

Here is the Rock krawler 3.5 X factor with 35s. The flat fenders do make the tires look a little small

RK 3.5 with 37's and stock flairs. I'd go 2.5 if I were you.

Teraflex 1.5" leveling kit is enough for 315/70/17 tires
