Default 35's....3.21's and offroading?

So my plan was to do 35's and new gears all at once. Bad fortune has shot that all to hell. I need to do the tires, no ifs ands or butts....

My question.....How bad will it be offroad for about 6-7 months with the 3.21's? Will I hate life? Will it be worse on rocks, hills or what?

Is this truly stupid and I should just stick with a new set of 33's? I really want to jump to 35's but I don't want to end up ruining a good summer of wheeling.

Stick or an automatic? If it is a stick, it will be painful, but doable, automatic, I think you will be hating life.

BaltChief, I am in the same boat... Gears are just not an option right now, but tires will be...

W/ stock 32's on the trail I usually find myself in 4Lo between 2nd and 3rd gear.

4.10s and 35s suck a fat 8=====D on the auto. I can tell you from experience. I dunno about 3.21s. I can tell you that I have wheeled with guys that had 3.73s and 33s and one had 35s and I noticed that where I was able to just put mine in 1 and let the engine slow me they had to ride brakes.

Use the search up there ^ cause one guy on here said that combo wasn't too bad... I dunno.

I'm running 35's with 3.21 and I'm finding it perfectly capable both on and off road. I was on a 5 hour trail ride just yesterday that consisted of rocks, mud, water crossing, and inclined rock climbs. I was able to get through without issue. In 4HI it was a little tough to maintain the proper gear but in 4LO no problem at all.

On a quick side note, how many miles did you get out of your Terra Grapplers?

I have 43k on them now b ut am down to about 1/4 in tread......my fault though cause I never rotated them...not once

I am going to replace them with the same in 35's or maybe the Goodyear MT/R Kevlars....The Nittos were a great tire in everything but mud

I love the terra grapplers, but way too much mud here in So. Georgia.

I've heard nothing but good things 'bout the new MTR's. And if your gonna be under powered w/ your new setup
more traction from a M/T would certainly be better than trying to 'rev up' to clean out an A/T.

i've got the 6 speed and i'm running 35's with the stock 3.21's and it does fine offroad to me. 4HI can be a dog, but 4LO, no problems.
