Default 35's or 37's with no lift

First, i want to thank everyone for their time here on the forum. I have a 1981 CJ7 fully bulit. 425 hp cvev gear drive etc etc etc I am purchasing a 2012 Rubicon 4 door this fall. I want to try something different and do no body or suspension lift at all. I am willing to modify as much as needed to get 35 or 37 inch tires under it. Has anyone here done that ?

Thanks for your input.
Bill

I'm a little confused when you say you're willing to modify as much as needed, but don't want to change the suspension. It is possible to do 35's w/ no lift, but if you offroad at all you'll more than certainly rub BAD. You can always do flat fender flares, but even still w/ 35's you'll rub w/o some type of lift. At minimum for 35's you're looking at flat flares and a leveling kit. Forget the 37's though w/o some serious modification.

There are a set of aftermarket flat fenders out there that claim you can run 37's with no lift.

I would like to hear some feedback back from someone who installed those fenders. Cool approach.

For over $1000 to do all 4 corners I doubt you will find very many people running them.

If they're sturdy then they don't cost any more than PSC or PureJeep flares.

I guess I'm old school...I like the ground clearance and look of a lift. It would be nice to avoid the driveline issues though...

Thanks guys. I like the look and function of the standard lift that is typical. I have that on my CJ7. This time I wanted the lower body style with the big tires to keep the C of G lower..I will check out the places you gave me to look. Also if you have any links to pics of jeeps like that it would be nice to see.

Like others have said, the Planman is the king of LCOG JK's. Here's his rig w/ 40" tires on a 3" lift.

Here is his link to running 37's on a 2.5" lift:
