35s and no lift
Here is my plan. My wife just got an 07 X 4dr. We are going to put the 35 Goodyear MTRs on today then do a 2.5 BB, then re-gear later. Will she be OK with 35s for a week with no lift or wheel spacer with the 35s ?

my 33s rub, she might not be able to turn into a parking space w/35s. But I don't have 35s so I don't know for sure. Are you installing spacers at the same time?

i think you can fit 35's w/o lift only if you chop fenders, and im sure you'll need spacers if mounting 35's on the stock x wheels.

lift
tires gears in that order:yup: |

I've run no-lift for a while and been fine when driving alone and trailing. Mine has the tow package and supposed 35" MTZs but actually measure 33.75 on 30psi. With stock fenders its very close : http://my.project-jk.com/data/500/medium/DSCN03761.JPG With chopped fenders its much better, but I finally convinced myself a lift is needed, a 2.5" Teraflex with coils is sitting in the garage waiting to be installed soon. http://my.project-jk.com/data/500/medium/DSCN0477.JPG |
If you are putting those tires on stock rims, the primary problem you will have is back spacing. I put 35 BFG At's on my stock 17's and drove them for a week. You will be able to turn about 80% of full lock. After that you will rub on the plastic front fender (not that big of a deal) and then the sway arms (a bigger deal). You will have to put on some wheel spacers if you are running stock wheels. If you are running aftermarket wheels, you will not have this problem (depending on the wheel). I still have not lifted it yet, and still rub on the plastic wind dam at full lock, though that's not a big deal (slight rubbing, no wheel dammage). I have done some mild/moderate wheeling without a lift and have run into little problems. If you kick the suspension in the ass you will bottom out. Keep in mind that a 2.5 lift will still rub at full articulation as well.
Bottom line...safety dictates you either get aftermarket wheels with your 35's or put on wheel spacers with stock rims. No lift will work for 85% of your daily needs without problems...daily driving and light wheeling/trail running...you will need more lift eventually. My 2c.... |

I like that front bumper set up you got there... To the OP, can you not wait a week? Is it new wheels, or just stock wheels and you are waiting on spacers? I would wait, when I got my 32's they were a little wider than stock and they rubbed my sway bar at full turn, so I took my sway bar off. If it rubs, don't drive it. If it rubs only when turning, get ready to turn a 3 point u turn into a 6 point... |

The X have soft coil springs, esp the ones without the tow package, so it depends on what springs you have on it, and what diameter your 35" tires actually measure.
