Until you go with bigger tires. When you get 35's with your 3.73 you will lose mpg.

4.88 will get you back to stock mpg with a 6 spd, 5.13 with the auto.

I have a stick and I will probably go 5.13 for a little more power.

After all, it's a Jeep, MPG is pretty far down on my list.

I was just quoted $1500 for the re-gear.

Where do you take it to get it regeared? I assume you do this and thro the warrenty out the window as you drive home from the garage.

I guess the bigger gear ratio the more power you have for spinning the bigger tires. I thought I read a while back that bigger gear ration increased the fuel economy. Is that right? It seems like you can't have both those at the same time.
Tell me the year of your Jeep, it's trim level (X,Sahara,Rubicon), your transmission type (auto or 6spd), and whether or not you opted for the tow package option, and I'll tell you your stock gearing.
