4.56 or 4.10
I'm looking to upgrade my gears 13 wrangler 3.73 currently running 35 with winch and bumpers. What would be better 410 or 456. This is a daily driver a lot of highway and mud and rock crawling

In the case where you may someday turn it into just a toy. Go 456, nobody iv heard of that went that way for 35s has complained
I dont always drive where others cant. but when I do, its in my Jeep. Stay muddy my friends |
Between the two, definately 4:56. Anything less wouldn't be all that noticable, not to mention the expense for just a slight change.

I have a 2013 JKR auto with stock 4.10's. It does ok but would be better with 4.56. I not going to change mine, I just recaled for tire size. I believe that a standard tranny would need 4.56 but not sure whats best for them.

4.10s would be a waste of money...im doin 4.56 next month at the advice of the shop. They also stated 4.10s cost more anyways. Not sure how accurate that last statement is...
If I beat you to it, Ill let you know how it goes. |
Goin into the shop Monday for 4:56's
I have a 6spd 2013 JK with 3:73 and 32's right now. Monday it gets a 2.5" RK lift, 35's , and 4:56's It's my double duty DD and toy. Would go 4:88's if it was just a toy. |
I'm trying to figure this out cause I can get a set of almost new 4.10 take offs for 100
|
I have 4.10s in my DD 2012 JKU Auto and 35s. It drives great around town and on the hightway. That being said when i haul my M416 trailer i wish i had 4.56s.
I would go 4.56 do it once, do i right and call it a day. |

The ring gear and pinion has nothing to do with the axle spline count, that depends entirely on the carrier/locker. If he doesn't have a Rubi he'll need the take offs out of one of the early JK X or Saharas that came with 4.10s from the factory or an aftermarket set
