4K Parts Budget. What would you get?
Just got my Silver 2011 2dr sport. 3.21 gears, manual. I have a $4,000.00 budget for parts. I would like a modest lift and a bumper and a winch. Other than that..I'm open for suggestions.
Here's what I'm thinking
OME 2" HD Lift $650.00
JKS Adjustable Front Track Bar $150.00
Teraflex Rear Track Bar Bracket $50.00
Black Rock steel wheels 16 x 8 (matte black) (5) $400.00
Goodyear M/Tr w/ Kevlar 305/70/16 (5) $1600.00
ARB Front Bull Bar Bumper - $650.00
Smittybilt Winch - $299.00
TOTAL $3799.00
Suggestions? Anyone running this setup? Pics?

Don't forget the little things like bump stops, brake line extension brackets, swaybar links and discos...etc. And you will probably want to get a new tire carrier.

OME 2" HD Lift
4door HD's on your 2door will be closer to 4"
Consider some form of caster correction, front bumpstops, longer brake lines or brackets, longer links or disco's.

- Teraflex 2.5" Coil Lift w/Shocks - $700.00
- Teraflex Front Monster Trackbar - $235.00
- Teraflex Rear Monster Trackbar - $225.00
- Teraflex Front Lower Control Arms - $320.00
- Regear to 4.88 - $995.00
- Cragar/Black Rock Steel Wheels - 16x9 - $300.00 (set of 5)
- Hankook DynaPro M/T 315/75R16 - $1,100.00 (set of 5)
- OR-Fab Rear Tire Carrier - $550.00
This puts you a little over $4K - but if you get with a Northridge4x4 or ORW, they'll give you a great package deal . Should get you pretty close to covered and do some small stuff (diff covers, evap skid, etc.) and eventually do a front bumper and winch of choice - should be set

I agree with Interceptor.
Buy quality american suspension parts from someone like Teraflex that addresses geometry. I wouldn't buy a 300 dollar winch. Just operate within limitations until you can afford quality. You can always hook up with someone to trail ride with and a quality lift and good rubber will go better than you think. A high lift jack can be used to pull you out in a pinch with just a little work.

Another way to get it done
Be really patient. Sign up for a welding class at a community college and make the system youreself. Should be about 1000 bucks for springs, shocks, brake lines, trailing arm joints, rod ends. Armed with all the info and support of this forum, you should have everything you need. That leaves quite a bit for tires, a quality winch, and gears. When you are done, you will know more about you're JK and have the pride of doing it youreself. Spread you're fingers apart 3 inches, you're not reinventing the wheel to get a little more height.

Buy a "complete" lift kit and go from there.. It will alleviate alot of things on your list.. Might cost you about $2,500 or so depending on the brand and then go from there....
