AEV Lift ?
Hello All!
I have a 2017 JKU and looking to put an AEV 2” Spacer Lift on soon. I am also planning on putting on some 305 70 R 17’s with it as well. My question is what other components should I consider with this lift?
I was thinking of adding some Geo Brackets because I heard the benefits of them as well. I am not planning on doing any wheeling .... all for aesthetics
>>> unless I drive off the road on accident .
So basically, I want to have the best ride possible with the lift/tires combo I am planning on going with. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Dave

Install the lift and see what you think of the steering before throwing more parts at it. You may find you don't mind the lower caster enough to worry about correcting it.
As far as the brackets go, you have already read all of the good reviews. The only negative-ish note to make is that they are designed for specific lift heights - 2.5"/3.5"/4.5" Since your lift is only 2", instead of moving the caster back to 'stock' spec, the 2.5" holes will set the caster a bit higher than stock. At that lift height, slightly higher Caster won't be an issue, just worth knowing about in case you get an alignment and the tech mentions it.

Haven't seen the Rancho's in person, but the reviews are very favorable. Lots of people like that they use a 1-piece design instead of several separate pieces that get bolted together with AEV's brackets. I figure they all do the same thing, though, so any of them will work just fine.
I've run the 2" AEV spacer lift for tens of thousands of miles on-road and lots of off-roading. It has been outstanding. No issues whatsoever. I'm running 285/70/17 tires on Quadratec Rubi-style rims that have the same backspacing as AEV rims, such as the Pintler. Previously I had the original OEM Moab rims with 255/80/17 tires. It has performed just fine with both, with no rubbing other than the plastic airdam edge under the front, at full turn lock and flex. I've just been too lazy to trim it.
Thank you! That’s exactly what I needed to hear.... I am hoping that the lift will be just I am looking for! Did you feel that you needed to add anything else with the lift? (Control arms, Geo brackets, etc.). When I get this all put together I want to make sure that I am including everything so I don’t have to go back later and add change anything around. Would you mind posting a picture of how yours turned out?
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

I have installed no less than 10 2" AEV lifts and none have needed control arms or geo brackets except on a recon edition 4 door. If you go to the AEV website and pull up the instructions on the geo brackets they will list a measurement you need to take and on most every one I installed the measurement was not enough to use AEV geo brackets.
That’s why I was going to use the Rancho which is shorter (2” vs 2.5” AEV)... but if you don’t think it’s needed then I should be good. Anything else I should consider adding?

find a set of stock rear swayer links to run up front. the AEV swaybar link extension brackets are cheesy to say the least. find a set of better shocks or even a set of rubicon take off shocks will help. The kit is a complete spacer kit so in reality you don't need anything but better shocks are always a plus.
