Wow, I've had my beadlocks for a year and a half now with lots of wheeling and no problems. Are you treating them with carnuba wax like the guide says? Wonder if the salt on the roads there in PA is causing it and maybe the carnuba will help. Good to hear AEV is hooking you up.

I had one crack last fall that was warrantied by AEV and now I noticed low tire pressure in one of my tires and came to find this on another wheel ... Looks like I'll be on the phone with AEV first thing Monday morning !!!

I come into work this morning and have this reply email from AEV waiting in my inbox ... Their customer and product support is truly first class !!!

Hi Howie,
Sorry to hear about the wheel. I’ve got one being sent out today and shipping to your address via FedEx indicates (2) business days so it should arrive on Wednesday. I’ll include a return label for the cracked wheel as I will need that back. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience. Give me a call if you have any questions. Thank you.

Default 3 of 5 cracked

While installing new fenders on my 07 Unlimited , i noticed that I had a low tire. Got to checking and seen that I had another cracked Pintler. This makes 3 out of 5 . I will be calling Mike again tomorrow for another wheel. Mike Reckling at AEV has been super nice about this issue and very prompt sending the replacement. Mine were originally purchased in spring 07, and have about 30k miles on them. I think it is just a bad batch of wheels. I dont do any heavy four wheeling , mostly just old forest service roads. Looks like I'm not alone. Good to see AEV covering this issue on the early wheels.

I have a set of 5 sitting in my garage ready for install. Manufacture date on all rims is 5-18-2011 so hopefully the problems are fixed.

I'm sure they are by now... mine were built in '08 and 2 of 5 have cracked so far.

I guess I'm in the club. I called AEV and it seems like they're going to replace it under their Lifetime Structural Warranty. I need to send it back to them first. They initially wanted me to buy a new one, then be reimbursed. I'll post back when this is resolved.

Well this has made my decision easy. No pintlers for me. I can't put those on and drive with a clear head and my family in my jeep. Love the look, but the thought of a full blown failure at highway speed or an evasive manuver will make me go else where for wheels.
