Your speedometer will need to be recalibrated.

I bought the AEV procal when I changed tires. Its super easy to use. You just need some small fingers or a small screwdriver to flip the dip switches. I wasn't so worried about the speedo, more concerned with incorrect odometer.

It's not quiet as important if you drive a stick. But it is very important to the auto's.

How tall were you OEM tires? Your new tires are 33's so if the OEM tires were a lot shorter it would be a good idea to have the speedometer recalibrated because it and your odometer will be off. My OEM tires were 32's and when I installed 33's my speedo is off 2 mph at 65 mph, so mine isn't too bad.

i have a sahara so i think there 32 tall im pretty sure how much does it cost to have done?

With 33s I wouldn't waste the time or money I have 33s and like already said at 65 or so its only off by 2 mph not a big deal at all

girom80 Jul 1, 2011 09:22 PM

ok thanks jus wanted to make sure it wasnt gonna mess anything up

I agree. Going from 32's to 33's isn't that big a deal. I'm not sure what Jeep dealers charge or if they can calibrate it for 33's. Ford dealers usually charge around $80 and they are limited to programming the computer for OEM sizes.

yea i saw the same thing with my 35's until i superchiped it, but for autos it also recalibrates your shift points which is prolly more importand than speedo
