For the first couple of weeks I definitely got on it more. When you make a change like that and you can hear that lower rumble coming from your motor, it's hard to resist But after the first couple weeks I went back to normal driving. Specifically because I saw what it was doing to my mileage. I guess that raises a question; should I reset the computer again? Now that I'm not driving like a fool, would it make a difference on a reset with normal acceleration and normal speeds?

Any thoughts?

Couldn't hurt. What kind of mileage are you getting? I get anywhere between 14-15 mpg with 35" KM2's and Superchips 87 Octane setting, 4.10 gears.

I'm getting about 13.6 MPG's. Sometimes it will jump to 14.2 on the highway. Everything on it is stock so far. Had to get past Christmas before I can play Santa for myself Gonna reset the computer again today. I'll post the results in a week or so.

I installed one on my 09 and had the same results. That is why I have been such an opponent to CAI systems, unless one just likes to hear a louder sound. I do not believe they improve gas economy at all. It is another one of the "jeep mods" that grabs people and takes their money.

Ditto,

This has been covered a lot on non jeep forums. Evening looking at KnN's website they don't advertise more mpgs.

Default Update

I did in fact reset my computer again on 1/13. As of today, 1/18, the computer is holding steady at 16.8 mpg's. Up from 13.6. So, I'm guessing after the install, when I was just excited about the new "rumble" coming from my mini-van engine, the computer calibrated to that style of driving. (fast acceleration) Now that I've reset it and I'm driving normally it seems to be responding better as far as the MPG's go.
If it stays in the 16-17 mpg range then that can mean only one thing: I spent $250 to get the same mileage I was getting with the stock intake
I'll just keep telling myself that I have a few more horse's under the hood now
Thanks for everyones input. Anyone wanna buy a slightly used intake?
