Airaid pain avoidance!!

Don't make the same mistake I just made. When removing the air temp sensor the Airaid instructions say to simply pull in a circular motion... Well in doing so I broke the clamp that holds the air temp sensor together with the other piece that it pugs into by pulling as instructed. I would definitely suggest unplugging the connection first, and then pulling the sensor out when you have it out of the vehicle instead. The replacement part costs me $40 from the dealer, and until I get it I've duct taped it holding the connection together. I can only hope that when I get the part from the dealer that it will be an easy install... But it probably wont be. If anyone has other pain avoidance advice please feel free to add.

Don't feel bad, I did the same thing. I broke the clip that holds the two connectors together. A little superglue fixed mine very well.

I broke it too. Duct tape has been working well for over 10.000 miles:)

I used electrical tape to hold it all together.

:rotflmao1::D THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH guys!!!!!!!!!! It's so good to know that I'm not alone! I got a HUGE smile after reading all of you's guy'ses responses. I have black duct tape wrapped backwards around the intake( so not to get stickies on it) and twisted it back around the connection piece on the right side. :D:rotflmao1:

i broke it too. gorilla glue saved the day for me, hopefully. the part that broken was where the sensor connects to the harness - i.e. if i had disconnected the harness, it wouldn't have broken. but the instructions do not tell you to disconnect it first.

i just hope that the red button doesn't have to be in any specific position for the sensor to function properly, because it doesn't seem to want to move as far into position as it needs to go.

I broke it too. Probably about an hour before you did (11am pacific). I just monkey (gorilla, whatever) glued it.
