Another Shock thread! Question for other 2Door owners

So i purchased my RK 2.5 lift and now have come to the decision that everyone asks for help with "which shock do i go with". Well i searched the forum and other jeep forum but cant seem to find a threat about a good shock for 2 door jeeps. So my question to you other 2door guys , what shock do you run and how does it perform for you:dontknow2:. I'm mostly going to be a lot of street driving with an off-road outing about 1 a month . The shocks I've been looking into are the bilstein 5100 , Fox 2.0 and Rancho 9000xl. I'm open to other options as well , these just seem to be the most common .:fingerscrossed:

Fox 2.0 will give you a stiffer ride. The 5100 are a popular choice. The 9000's are fully adjustable. Becoming very popular very quickly. They give an exceptional ride. Right up there with the Old Man Emu nitrocharger sport shocks from what I've read.

Not that I have a 2 door but a shock is a shock in my opinion. You would probably want a nice on road riding jeep. My opinion, go with the 9000's or the Old Man Emu I mentioned.

Agree with above. On a 2 door, the fox and Bilstein are stiff. OME are nice, and the Ranchos (only ones I haven't used) are said to provide the most compliant ride.

Same... got the Bil 5100's here and they run great. The Rancho's would be my second choice.

I run the Bilstein 5100 shocks on my 2 door. Ive nothing to compare them to as they are the only shock I used both on my TJ and now on my 2012 JK Rubi Auto. I run a 4 inch lift. Changing down to a 3-3.5" lift within a couple weeks. Originally ran Teraflex springs, changed to RE springs. Now Im changing my RE springs out for RK triple rate ones. Im trying to solve the spring sag issue.

Good luck with your build.

I would go rancho 9000, out of those choices. I am running Monroe Reflex monotubes. they are awesome on my rig. They made a huge improvement on my JK. Mine is a 4 door with 2" lift.

I own a 2 dr have 2.5" RK kit and run the Rancho 9000. Great ride and you have the option to dial it in to suit your taste

I recommend Rancho's. Great ride.

Have you looked into the RRD's by Rock Krawler? They are very tunable and ride great paired with their springs. If you would like pricing shoot us a PM.
