Any feedback on upgrades before I attempt the Rubicon?
I was looking for some feedback on any upgrades I should consider before running the Rubicon. I will be running the Rubicon trail with 2 friends, that are way more built up than my JKU and shouldn’t have any issues completing it.
I know having front and rear true trac’s might not be the best option, but should I not attempt going? I’ve had pretty good success with them out in Moab following my friends in their buit rubicons. I always go easy on the gas pedal and have no issues with backing down off an obstacle to try another line or take a bypass. With that said, Is there anything I should absolutely install before I go? As long as you know your vehicle and driving limitations you will be fine. Just for fun go to Jeep's official website and go to the Trail Rated video. Apparantly if you have a trail rated badge it is able to run the whole rubicon trail. ( thats what they say in the video) funny how they refuse to warranty some stuff due to offroading.
Obviously go around stuff that is wicked rough, other than that just have a good time and be safe. |
Dude I just made the trek to the Con and have less mods than you do and made it no problem. There will be some optional tracks id stay away from but for the most part, and just my opinion, the con wasn't as challenging as i had anticipated. As the other poster mentioned, knowing your jeep and its capabilities along with your comfort level, is key. Post pics and enjoy the ride, its a gorgeous run.
