Default Anyone in PA running on 40s?

I’m in the process of upgrading my 2014 jku with Dana ultimate 60s and 40” tires. Wheels will be eklipse 17x10 with 3.5 backspacing. Tires will be 40x13.5. PA limits bumper height, so I’m stuck with my 3.5” lift (which will gain an inch or so from the thicker d60 tubes). PA law requires the tires to be completely covered by the fenders.

I’m wondering what others have done for fenders. The widest i’ve found are about 12.5 to 13 inches, and I suspect these might still be too narrow. Unfortunately I really don’t know for sure how far out I will be with this set up, so I’m looking for others’ experiences.

also, any steering clearance issues with this setup? I was hoping to go with higher backspacing but was talked out of it based on clearance

You should be right around 84" out side of your tires.

No, your stock will not work. I thought the UD60's came with a new tie rod? If not check with your seller of the axles and they can sell you one. I build my own.

Also, I’ve been told that I need the 3.5 backspacing for steering clearance. Do you agree or could I get away with 4.5 with these axles?

You are going to need 3.5" Bs wheels as those axle are really built for a 37"x12.5" tire. A 72" WMS axle is better for 40x13.5 tires and lets you run 4.5" BS on a 9" wheel.

Your factory drag link will be too short.

Thank you.

i’m having a hell of a time finding a 17x10 in 8x6.5 with 3.5 backspace. Any ideas? I haven’t been able to get confirmation from B.A.D. That their eklipse beadlocks are going to clear the brakes, and I haven’t found another DOT approved option (even without beadlocks).
