Default Axle shafts options for prorock 44

I would like to know what my options are for a prorock44 with an ARB rd117 locker for the front.
Would I be able to use the stock d30 axle shaft or from a stock rublicon front? And are outer axle tube seals required? Just finished setting up the gears and now ready for axle shafts.

What height lift are you running? Outer seals are your call. My opinion is they do help but you’ll get several of those on here

Believe that is a 30-spline locker, which should allow you to use factory rubi shafts. You could also upgrade to some chromoly shafts or RCVs, but it sounds like you're asking for the cheapest option. Factory 27-spline D30 shafts are definitely not going to work.

In regards to outter seals....as previous poster said, you'll get mixed opinions. Some will say they help keep crap out of the tube while others will say they actually trap crap in the tube. I don't have them, looked at em, and walked away with the latter opinion. I dont' think they're necessary, and if I have a leaking inner seal, I want to see the signs of it as soon as possible (gear oil dripping out the tube at the C) so I can make the repair.

Being that you have upgraded the housing, it only makes sense to upgrade to stronger shafts. Go chromoly or RCV.

I’ll be installing the evo bolt on coilovers the same time the axle is going in, so maybe I’ll be going 3-4 inch lift. As for now, yes the cheapest option. I will upgrade later as I don’t really mind doing the work myself. So is it for sure the rubicon shafts for the rd117 locker for the front axle? I’ll be looking in the for sale section here, and just don’t want to purchase and then no use for them.

I thought you could use the factory rubis shafts, but now I'm questioning if the lengths are the same. the 30-spline count works, but if I were you I'd Call Dynatrac real quick and just double check on the lenghts......if you can use factory rubi shafts or not.

You can NOT use D30 shafts in our ProRock 44 housing. And even if they could fit, why would you want to install weak D30 shafts in a strong 44-style housing?

Give us a call at 714-421-4314 and we can go over what you're looking to do and discuss the available options, and answer your questions on the seals.

Nice partial answer. The question is if you can use factory 30-spline d44 rubicon shafts.

The short answer is Yes you can use the stock Rubi shafts along as the PR is the same width as the stock 44
