i had the same problem, with teraflex hd flip kit is vanished........

My ball joints failed at 25K on my JK as well. If they fail again I'm hopeful dynatrac will actually have their kit to market and I'll put metal in there like god intended.

Dynatrac Ball Joints

Good News and Bad News.

I emailed Dynatrac and they replied:

"We will be in full production in 2 weeks if all goes as planned. I will
keep your email and notify you when we are all done. Cost is $599.00 for
the complete set of uppers and lowers (both sides)."

So good news is they should be available soon:ya: Bad news is price:thinking: I don't know what a good quality ball joint should cost....

I think that price was expected. I also will be getting these when mine wear out.

Skippman Feb 18, 2010 10:43 AM

That's mighty dang pricey. If I add up how much it would cost for those ball joints, a re-gear, C gussets, trusses, and a couple other odds and ends it'd almost be cheaper to buy some new Dynatrac Dana 44 axels with 5.13's. Do a direct swap out and sell my Dana 44 to someone with a Sahara and the Dana 30.

Yeah they are pricey. I was thinking I was going to get these, then have my gussets done and then put these in afterward. Now, going to need to find someone to do the gussets without messing up my stock ball joints. I don't have the money for those right now, or rather this year....

Oh, they emailed me back, they are currently taking orders on these if you want to spend the money.

I'm still not convinced on this explanation......but I couldn't argue with the fact my ball joints needed replaced. What the cause is, still open for debate.

Does the above explanation make technical sense to anyone else?

Not to me. JK's with stock tires are also going through ball joints.
All the stress from the tires goes right to the ball joints first.

The problem seems to be the plastic in the joints can't handle the load.
They should have been bigger, or all steel, with grease fittings.

That is funny right there. The cause in My opinion is that the Factory balljoints are Crap.

factory ball joints are shit for sure, and the stock stabilizer or any aftermarket one i dont believe will be the culprit for DW. The dealership will say so, so may some others, but its just not the case.

They've been telling me the same thing since before CHRISTMAS! They say it's the engineers' fault.
