Default Ball joints......

Looks like my lower drivers side ball joint has given its life in the battle vs Ca’s terrible roads(& possibly normal wear)..... looking for recommendations..... I’d definitely like greasable as opposed to factory non-serviceable. I always like to upgrade when changing out parts & would be open to higher end IF they are truly better quality...... and feel free to add in those to stay away from($ vs longevity/durability)...... 2018 JKU w/ 3 1/2” lift.....thanks!!!!!

Grasshopper, you have multiple choices... to help with the decision check these:

IDK which for you, with a 2013 w/78k mi on 33s and going up on 35's I will probably be reading all these soon. Keep us updated on what you install.

If you want the best, just stop at Rare Parts. Are they truly better? Yes. Do they cost alot? Yes. I have DT BJs which are also pricey and they like to push the rebuildable aspect. I cannot suggest them to anyone. I have a long thread on here that goes through my rebuild process. It's not worth reading through unless you need some real convincing why not to buy them. After those, you drop down to Teraflex, Synergy, Alloy, etc......the best of which is TF IMO. I burned through 3 sets of SynergY BJs back when I was on 35s, and that was that. Alloy is the same design as Synergy. Moog is basically factory with grease zerk. Not worth the effort IMO.

I recommend biting the bullet and getting Dynatrac. I went through multiple sets. Finally, I figured I would just go with the most expensive. Have not been disappointed. They are really burly and well made. Just have to be super careful greasing them so the seal does not pop.

I have rebuilt all four of mine before. I hope that when it comes time to rebuild yours, and it will at some point, that you have a better experience than I had. I got 40k miles out of em before having to rebuild. That ain't enough for the price.

Rare Parts and be done. I had a meh experience with Teraflex ball joints (short life). Two buddies running Synergy and those blew out even faster than my Teraflex ones.

I've been through a set of Synergy as well, but in all fairness, they did make some updates to the design. Teraflex was the same price and lifetime warranty, can you say no to that?

I’m running teraflex on 35’s and so far they’ve done well. Granted, I’ve only had mine for a couple months now. Sure, I’d love to have the rare parts but they’re too spendy. I would really suggest limping your d44’s along till you can get d60’s. That’s my plan. Before I spend large sums of money on my d44’s, I’ll save up for the 60’s.

If you can keep the water out of em those Rare Parts BJs look like they will outlast the owner.
