Best Gear Upgrade for 6 speed?
All,
I know most are probably sick of re-gear questions by now, but I need some advice. What gears would be best for a 2DR 6 speed running 35s? Jeep is my DD and I plan on adding the Ripp SC in a few months. Appreciate the help!

4.56 will get you back to a 'stock-like' ratio, and should be a good match with the extra power from a S/C. (if you can find them?)
4.88's are very popular for manuals on 35's, and folks that don't do a lot of high speed freeway driving may go up to 5.13's. I have never run a manual or a s/c, but my thought is that 4.56's may be a better choice for you.
Ripp is a sponsor, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to just send them a message to get their input.

only on paper. the reality of it is, 4.88's will provide a much better 'stock like' feel and 5.13 will give you a boost in power. i would NOT recommend 4.56 for 35's. trust me, i have test driven all 3 setups.

I figure it all depends on your application/usage. Just know what you get with each option and do your homework. For me, 4.56s were the ticket with my 6 speed. With 35's that measure 33.75, a swapped in 4:1 T-Case, a dana 30 up front that I want to keep the pinion as large as possible for durability, and significant highway time looming on the horizon...it made the most sense for me.

Yeah, I agree. Until now, I just used a lower gear for the highway when needed. But where I'm moving soon...the hills are bad enough to risk it with the smaller pinion. Like I was saying, my applicationed changed and you just have to weigh all that and use your nugget OP.
